First Poster for Denzel Washington’s ‘The Equalizer’

So far the only look we’ve had at Antoine Fuqua‘s (Olympus Has Fallen), in The Equalizer starring Denzel Washington, was the above picture. Tonight, however, Columbia Pictures has released the first poster for the film that reunites Washington with his Training Day director and rumor has it a sequel is already in the works.

Loosely based on the late-’80s TV series centered on a private detective available for hire if you have a problem that you don’t know how to solve, the film will be adjusted with Washington playing a character named McCall, a former black ops commando who has faked his death to live a quiet life in Boston. When he comes out of his self-imposed retirement to rescue a young girl, Teri (Chloë Grace Moretz), he finds himself face to face with ultra-violent Russian gangsters. As he serves vengeance against those who brutalize the helpless, McCall’s desire for justice is reawakened. If someone has a problem, the odds are stacked against them, and they have nowhere else to turn, McCall will help.

Co-starring with Washington and Moretz are Marton Csokas, David Harbour, Bill Pullman and Melissa Leo.

I have to assume the fact this poster was released means we’ll be seeing a poster for the film, which hits theaters on September 26, soon.
