The predictions are in and if they’re correct Marvel and Disney can expect big things over the next three days for Captain America: The Winter Soldier as both Laremy and the readers expect over a $90 million opening weekend, though Laremy goes almost $4 million higher than the reader aggregate. Any chance this thing can hit triple digits? It already brought in $10.2 million from Thursday night screenings and if it follows in line with Iron Man 3 and Thor: The Dark World you can expect as much as $110 million.
Next on the board is Noah and Laremy and the readers are pretty close on not only this one, but the next two as well with the readers going just slightly over Laremy’s prediction, which tells me they are likely to go 3-for-3, which just seems to be the case most of the time.
With Noah, Laremy predicted a 55% dip and a $19.7 million finish, the readers see it doing a little better for a $20 million weekend. This is one title I’m really curious to see how it ends up doing, not just here in the States but overseas as it’s a tough one to nail down in terms of interest and that “C” CinemaScore isn’t helping, especially against the largely positive reviews.
I’ve included Laremy’s predictions and the average reader predictions directly below and I’ll be back on Sunday with box office estimates. To see Laremy’s full list of predictions and all 90 reader predictions for this weekend click here.
