Judd Apatow’s ‘Trainwreck’ Adds Tilda Swinton, Barkhad Abdi, Ezra Miller and More

Judd Apatow has beefed up the cast of his upcoming comedy Trainwreck, which will feature comedienne Amy Schumer as a woman attempting to rebuild her life. Already in the cast were Bill Hader, Brie Larson and Colin Quinn, but that list has grown in a big way today.

Actors joining the cast include Tilda Swinton, Oscar nominee Barkhad Abdi (Captain Phillips), Mike Birbiglia, Jon Glaser (“Girls”), Vanessa Bayer (“Saturday Night Life”), WWE star Jon Cena and Ezra Miller (We Need to Talk about Kevin).

I’m very hopeful Abdi’s casting isn’t stunt casting and he won’t be playing himself because this could be great news for not only him, but the industry as we also learned Lupita Nyong’o is up for a role in Star Wars: Episode VII as well as a courtroom drama with Daniel Craig.

While I’m sure you’re familiar with most of the names in the cast, if you’re not familiar with Schumer, she’s a very funny, witty comedienne. I’ve included a clip from her Comedy Central special “Inside Amy Schumer” below, get acquainted and look for her on Spotify if you’re interested in hearing more, but beware, her comedy isn’t clean.

The film is set for a July 24, 2015 release date.
