Tonight I’ll be heading out to the theater to see 300: Rise of an Empire, the sequel to Zack Snyder‘s original adaptation of Frank Miller‘s graphic novel “300” and a film I’ve already seen countless number of trailers on television, all of which say “kill” about 20 times. My assumption, based on said trailers and the R-rating for “strong sustained sequences of stylized bloody violence throughout” tells me it’s going to be quite the ride. Oh, and if memory serves, I’ve heard there is something of a Shoot ‘Em Up-esque, violent sex scene between Sullivan Stapleton as Themistokles and Eva Green as Artemisia. Exciting right?
Unfortunately, no pictures of said sex scene among the 44 new pictures from the film I have for you here, but there are plenty of hard bodies and stylized imagery along with a new “Heroes” featurette for the film, which pits the Greek general Themistokles against the massive invading Persian forces, ruled by the mortal-turned-god Xerxes, and led by Artemisia, the vengeful commander of the Persian navy.
Check it all out directly below and over the next few pages.
300: Rise of an Empire hits theaters in 3D this Friday, March 7.
