FX has released a brief teaser trailer for their upcoming television series “Fargo“, declared an original adaptation of Joel and Ethan Coen‘s 1996 movie of the same name.
Billy Bob Thornton is featured in this first trailer, evoking memories of a scene from the film, starring as Lorne Malvo, a rootless, manipulative man who meets and forever changes the life of small town insurance salesman Lester Nygaard (Martin Freeman). Also starring are Colin Hanks as Duluth Police Deputy Gus Grimly, a single dad who must choose between his own personal safety and his duty as a policeman when he comes face-to-face with a killer and Allison Tolman as Molly Solverson, an ambitious Bemidji deputy.
The show premieres on April 15 and is said to follow a new case and new characters, all entrenched in the trademark humor, murder and “Minnesota nice” that made the film an enduring classic.
