Warner Bros. has announced Jesse Eisenberg will play Lex Luthor in their Man of Steel sequel, Batman vs. Superman opposite Ben Affleck as Batman with Henry Cavill returning as Superman. Also joining the cast is Jeremy Irons as Bruce Wayne’s life-long butler Alfred.
Previous casting includes Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman/Diana Prince as well as Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane. Zack Snyder directs with the screenplay currently being rewritten by Chris Terrio (Argo).
Some filming is reportedly underway while WB recently moved the film out of 2015 to a May 6, 2016 release date.
