‘Fast & Furious 7’ Set for April 2015 Release

Vin Diesel posted the above picture of himself and Paul Walker in what he described as the “last scene we filmed together” as part of Fast & Furious 7 before Walker died on November 30. Production on the film was promptly shut down as the filmmakers and Universal brainstormed on how exactly to continue with the franchise. Along with the above picture Diesel also revealed the film, which was originally set for a July 11, 2014 release, will now hit theaters on April 10, 2015.

Diesel wrote on his Facebook page:

The last scene we filmed together…

There was a unique sense of completion, of pride we shared… in the film we were now completing… the magic captured… and, in just how far we’ve come…

Fast and Furious 7 will be released…

April 10th 2015!

P.s. He’d want you to know first…

There is no word on how exactly the plot will be retooled or how involved Walker’s character will be. What is known is the film will continue the action franchise and along with Diesel, Fast and Furious 7 will co-star Dwayne Johnson, Tyrese Gibson, Chris ‘Ludacris’ Bridges, Sung Kang, Kurt Russell, Djimon Hounsou, Ronda Rousey, Lucas Black and Jason Statham, the latter of which playing the brother of Luke Evans‘ character from Fast & Furious 6, seeking revenge for his brother’s death.

Ironically enough, the film will release one week after Insidious: Chapter 3, a franchise started by director James Wan who is now responsible for carrying on the Fast mantle. Wan, however, is not directing Insidious 3.
