First ‘Wolf of Wall Street’ Clip

Paramount has released the first clip from Martin Scorsese‘s The Wolf of Wall Street as they have started scheduling screenings in New York and Los Angeles in anticipation of a dirty little awards battle of the coming months and a Christmas Day release date.

Based on Jordan Belfort’s tell-all autobiography, The Wolf of Wall Street centers on Belfort (Leonardo DiCaprio), a Long Island penny stockbroker who served 20 months in prison for refusing to cooperate in a massive 1990s securities fraud case that involved widespread corruption on Wall Street and in the corporate banking world, including mob infiltration.

Along with DiCaprio the film co-stars Matthew McConaughey, Jonah Hill, Kyle Chandler, Margot Robbie, Jon Favreau, Rob Reiner, Jean Dujardin, PJ Byrne and Kenneth Choi.

In a recent interview with The Playlist, screenwriter Terence Winter described as something akin to Scorsese’s Goodfellas for the stockbroker set saying, “It is very much [in that vein]. It’s sort of written in the same style, voice-overs, it’s a very fast movie, it’s really a wild roller coaster ride. I’m really proud of it and incredibly proud to be working with Marty and those guys.”
