‘Star Wars: Episode 7’ is Having Problems. No It’s Not! Yes It IS!

So you remember when Michael Arndt was replaced by director J.J. Abrams and Lawrence Kasdan as screenwriters on Star Wars: Episode VII? You probably do, it happened last Thursday. Well, apparently as a result producer Kathleen Kennedy and most of the film’s creative team have asked Disney if they could push the film from the planned 2015 release to 2016. Mickey, or more specifically studio CEO Robert Iger, said no.

Iger wants the film for 2015 no matter what according to a report from The Hollywood Reporter, adding that some sources say Abrams has become autocratic in recent months, wresting some casting control from Kennedy.

Of course, with all the negative chatter in the THR piece there are others saying the opposite, disputing the notion Abrams has taken over absolute power and then an anonymous source too scared to reveal their name saying, “It’s nothing out of the ordinary… Almost every big movie changes writers at some point. There’s no drama here.”

Oh, so, a little like this?
