Awards Notes: Jessica Chastain Stumps for Blanchett and Fey and Poehler Sought for Second Go at Globes

If you’re still in doubt about the current stranglehold Cate Blanchett has on the Best Actress race with her performance in Blue Jasmine then maybe the following Facebook post from Jessica Chastain may shed a little light on the situation.

Chastain took to Facebook to give the front-running actress a little additional boost referring to Blanchett as a “genius” and making vegetation comparisons between herself and Cate’s titular performance when a nice man made her feel better about herself.

Certainly things can change in a big way in the Best Actress race as my current top five has four performances behind Blanchett’s that no one has seen yet with plenty more after that, but it never hurts to jump out of the gates with a great start.

In other news, Deadline reports Tina Fey and Amy Poehler have received an informal invitation to host the 2014 Golden Globes. The duo hosted last year’s show and were highly well-received.
