‘Game of Thrones’ Star Natalie Dormer Cast as Cressida in ‘Hunger Games: Mockingjay’

I first remember seeing Natalie Dormer in “The Tudors”. We’ve since seen her in a small role in Captain America: The First Avenger and now she plays Margaery Tyrell on HBO’s “Game of Thrones” and she’s ready to add another popular title to her resume as she’ll play Cressida in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 and Part 2.

The Hunger Games wiki describes the character as follows:

Cressida is a resident director from the Capitol who joined the rebellion along with her camera crew Castor and Pollux as well as her assistant Messalla, who had also joined the rebellion, to District 13 when they fled the Capitol. Cressida was told by Plutarch to follow Katniss throughout her journeys in the rebellion so they could make numerous propos across Panem to encourage strength and morale in the rebels.

Personally I’m really interested in seeing how Lionsgate pulls off the Mockingjay films. The book was easily the best of the three, but they are bloody as hell. This fall we get The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, which in my opinion is just more of the same, but come the release of Mockingjay – Part 1 on November 21, 2014 we’ll see just what kind of balls this franchise has.

Francis Lawrence directed Catching Fire and will direct both Mockingjay installments, which again will star Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth as the main characters.
