Joss Whedon‘s The Avengers: Age of Ultron (aka The Avengers 2) is putting together its incoming cast to surround the regulars and two new characters will be that of superhero siblings Quicksilver (rumored to be played by Kick-Ass 2 star Aaron Taylor-Johnson) and Scarlet Witch. The latter was previously rumored to be a role Saoirse Ronan was the top pick for, but she has apparently passed on the gig. Now, Bleeding Cool reports Elizabeth Olsen is the top pick for the role.
Olsen had her breakout in Martha Marcy May Marlene and has several films arriving this year, chief among them Spike Lee‘s Oldboy remake and next year the Godzilla reboot at Warner Bros. She also has both Therese and Kill Your Darlings playing at the Toronto Film Festival next month.
Of course, this is just a rumor so whether it comes to pass is anyone’s guess at the moment. That said, how would you like to see the young Olsen sibling in Marvel tights?
