As I this review seems to be the most balanced, applying a swath of adjectives on both sides of the fence. Admittedly, however, I only skimmed it, not wanting to get too many details. I tried looking at other reviews, but it seems that since this the third episode only recently premiered, each presumes the reader has seen the first two.
That said, here’s the short synopsis:
A sudden inexplicable spate of shootings rips through the market town of Southcliffe. The lives of those left behind are torn apart. In this haunting drama a journalist reporting on the tragedy finds himself back in the small town he grew up in, looking for answers from the shattered community whilst trying to reconcile the dark events from his own past.
The film stars Rory Kinnear (Skyfall), Sean Harris (Prometheus), Shirley Henderson (awesome in everything), Anatol Yusef (“Boardwalk Empire”) and Eddie Marsan (The World’s End, Happy Go Lucky).
This is one I really want to check out, but I can only make that happen if it isn’t conflicting with other films. A three hour film at a film festival can often mean you’re missing two films to see one. Not always the best bang for your buck. Check out the just released festival trailer and let me know what you think.
