Mark Strong and Bryan Cranston Rumored for Lex Luthor Role in ‘Batman vs. Superman’

Today a rumor has been floating around concerning the upcoming Batman vs. Superman movie (aka Man of Steel 2) as I expect will continue to be the case until Warner Bros. begins offering up some official details and on top of that, I’m not even sure David S. Goyer has finished the script. However, fan speculation has had many thinking the classic Superman villain Lex Luthor will be part of the film with many speculating Bruce Wayne (aka Batman) will be introduced into the scenario as Wayne Enterprises goes into business with LexCorp, both of which were teased in director Zack Snyder‘s Man of Steel.

Well, today’s rumor involves Luthor with two names rumored as possible candidates. First is Digital Spy who spoke with Mark Strong (Green Lantern, Sherlock Holmes) who, when asked about being rumored for the part, said, “All I can say is… watch this space.” Unfortunately, I don’t know what that means. Watch what space?

Next, Latino Review suggests it may be Bryan Cranston as he winds down the final season of “Breaking Bad“.

Both seem like strong picks if you ask me, though personally I would prefer Cranston as he bears less a resemblance to Kevin Spacey who played the role last in Bryan Singer‘s Superman Returns.

Do you have a preference?
