Dave Bautista will star in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy (8/1/14) as Drax the Destroyer and today he tweeted out the first image from the film’s set as he takes to the water tank in a skin tight green wetsuit that will likely be CGI’d to give the proper effect.
Drax is a member of the titular suyperhero group and Bautista is joined by Chris Pratt who plays Peter Quill (Aka Star-Lord), Zoe Saldana as Gamora, Michael Rooker as Yondu, Lee Pace as Ronan the Accuser, Benicio Del Toro as The Collector, Djimon Honsou as Korath the Pursuer, and Glenn Close as Nova Prime.
Guardians of the Galaxy will reportedly be set in the future and feature the team fighting an evil race called the Badoon, and in the process they would supposedly travel back in time and cross paths with some of the Avengers team. Speculation says that Thanos, the giant being seen in the post-credits sequence following The Avengers would be in the film and Guardians of the Galaxy would serve as a precursor to The Avengers 2.
