Couple of Davids Join Christopher Nolan’s ‘Interstellar’

David Oyelowo will be seen in Lee DanielsThe Butler and has had roles in everything from Rise of the Planet of the Apes to The Help and even a small role in the beginning of Lincoln. Now he’s taking his game to Christopher Nolan‘s Interstellar along with David Gyasi who co-starred with Oyelowo in Red Tails and Nolan must have remembered him from his iconic role as Skinny Prisoner in The Dark Knight Rises.

This latest bit of casting news comes from The Wrap and as with all previous Interstellar casting there is no word on what role either will play in the film, but they are joining one of the largest ensemble casts we’ve seen in some time.

Oyelowo and Gyasi will star alongside Matthew McConaughey, Jessica Chastain, Anne Hathaway, Michael Caine, Casey Affleck, Ellen Burstyn, John Lithgow, Topher Grace and Wes Bentley, but beyond the film’s leads, which I believe are only McConaughey, Chastain and Hathaway, there is no telling how much screen time each will get.

Interstellar involves time travel and alternate dimensions in a story that sees a group of explorers travel through a wormhole. The script is based on scientific theories developed by a Kip Thorne, a theoretical physicist, a gravitational physicist and astrophysicist at Caltech. Like Inception, the story is said to be “complex and multi-layered”.

Warner Bros. will release Interstellar on November 7, 2014.
