First ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’ Posters Feature Professor X and Magneto Old and New

Following this weekend’s events at Comic Con the first posters for X-Men: Days of Future Past, the sequel to 2011’s X-Men: First Class have premiered featuring imagery combining the faces of Professor X actors, Patrick Stewart and James McAvoy, and Magneto performers, Ian McKellen and Michael Fassbender.

The film is based on Chris Claremont and John Byrne’s two-issue comic story featuring a future where machines known as Sentinels with a primary objective of mutant destruction. Apparently Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) goes back in time from this future to team with the younger generation of X-Men to put a stop to the events before they take place.

X-Men: Days of Future Past is directed by Bryan Singer and will hit theaters on May 23, 2014.
