Well this is a bit of a surprise and pretty much out of nowhere, there appears to have been a kick-off event for Wally Pfister‘s directorial debut Transcendence in China and along with it comes a teaser poster, featurette and even a first look image of stars Rebecca Hall and Johnny Depp on set.
For those unfamiliar with the name, Pfister is the long-time cinematographer for Christopher Nolan and won an Oscar for his work on Nolan’s Inception.
As for Transcendence, it’s described as a present-day science fiction story centering on a scientist (Depp) who is murdered by anti-technology terrorists, but his wife (Hall) uploads his brain into the supercomputer he created, allowing him the ability to communicate through it and continue conducting his research. Paul Bettany, Kate Mara, Morgan Freeman, Cillian Murphy and Cory Hardrict also star.
