Box Office Results: Leaderboard Updated as ‘Despicable Me 2’ Trounces ‘Lone Ranger’

The RopeofSilicon Box Office Challenge leaderboard has been updated after Despicable Me 2 dominated the domestic box office over Disney’s The Lone Ranger and each week is proving to be quite the challenge as some early winners have yet to follow-up with big wins and a couple of readers are chipping away, gradually moving up the leaderboard.

Beyond the top titles there isn’t a lot to talk about beyond the success of Kevin Hart‘s concert picture Let Me Explain, which brought in $17.3 million in five days and Pixar’s Monsters University crossed the $200 million mark.

As I already mentioned, in just a couple weeks a second leaderboard will be revealed, tracking your overall prediction accuracy, so on top of the point system, we will begin tracking just who is the most accurate. I’m sure some will argue the second leaderboard will be the true test of your prediction skills.

As for the point leaderboard, here’s the current top ten, but you can see the full list of rankings right here and for the complete box office top ten and points awarded for this weekend specifically click here.
