Lars von Trier‘s Nymphomaniac is probably 2013’s most anticipated curiosity? What will this movie be? The story is said to follow the erotic journey of Joe (Charlotte Gainsbourg), a self-diagnosed nymphomaniac, who is found beaten up in an alley by Seligman (Stellan SkarsgÃ¥rd), an old, charming bachelor who cares for her and listens to her recount the story of her life as detailed in eight, filmed chapters.
Today we get a first glimpse at one of those chapters, Chapter One: The Compleat Angler, in the first clip from the film. Here Stacy Martin plays young Joe who is learning the ways of the world from her more experienced friend B (Sophie Kennedy Clark).
Nymphomaniac is already set for a Christmas Day release in Denmark while U.S. distributor Magnolia Pictures has yet to reveal their plans. Along with the names above, additional co-stars include Shia Labeouf, Jamie Bell, Connie Nielsen, Mia Goth, Jens Albinus, Severin von Hoensbroech, Peter Gilberg Cotton, Nicolas Bro, Tabea Tarbiat, Janine Romanowski, Jesper Christensen, Tania Carlin, Felicity Gilbert and Shanti Roney.
