Summit just sent over ten new pictures from their upcoming young adult adaptation Divergent, which is set in a future where America is divided into five ideological factions to stabilize society and uphold peace, every citizen must choose a permanent faction at age 16 – either their own or another. In it Shailene Woodley stars as Tris Prior who is warned she is Divergent and will never fit into any one group. When she discovers a conspiracy to destroy all Divergents, she must find out what makes being Divergent so dangerous before it’s too late.
Directed by Neil Burger (The Illusionist), the film co-stars Theo James, Kate Winslet, Tony Goldwyn, Ray Stevenson, Maggie Q, Mekhi Phifer, Jai Courtney, Miles Teller and Zoë Kravitz.
Obviously comparisons to The Hunger Games will be made as I have only read the above synopsis and I can already see comparisons, so Summit will have to do their best to attempt to appeal to the same audience without looking as if they are selling the same product.
