Warner Bros. has released the first 300: Rise of an Empire trailer as I’m sure it will be attached to screenings of Man of Steel this weekend despite the fact it doesn’t hit theaters until March 2014. I guess it’s only appropriate considering it’s the sequel to Man of Steel director Zack Snyder‘s coming out party in 2007 with 300.
The sequel is directed by Noam Murro and is based on Frank Miller’s latest graphic novel “Xerxes” which takes the action from the bloody battlefield to the raging oceans as Greek general Themistokles (Sullivan Stapleton) attempts to unite all of Greece by leading the charge against the Persian forces led by mortal-turned-god Xerxes (Rodrigo Santoro) and Artemesia (Eva Green), vengeful commander of the Persian navy.
The film hits theaters on March 7, 2014, check out the trailer below.
