‘A Most Wanted Man’ Sizzle Trailer

Anton Corbijn‘s A Most Wanted Man is still without a U.S. distributor, but perhaps this sizzle trailer that has just debuted will give someone enough reason to pick it up. Either that or I expect we’ll see this one head to the Toronto or Venice Film Festival without a distributor and hoping some rave reviews spur a bidding war. It certainly has the talent to attract some buyers.

Based on the John le Carré (Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy) novel of the same name, the film stars Rachel McAdams, Willem Dafoe, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Robin Wright and Daniel Bruhl and the story centers on a Chechen Muslim who illegally immigrates to Hamburg, where he gets caught up in the international war on terror.

eOne, who just picked up Olivier Hirschbiegel’s Diana, is handling the film in Canada so perhaps they’ll step up for the domestic release as well.

The sizzle reel you see below was most likely used in the market at the Cannes Film Festival and didn’t manage to attract a U.S. buyer… yet. You tell me, are you interested in what you see? I will say this, the cinematography from Benoît Delhomme (The Proposition) is fantastic, but that seems to be a constant when it comes to Corbijn’s work, be it The American or Control, the guy, who started his career as a photographer, has one hell of an eye.
