Do You Want John Williams to Score ‘Star Wars: Episode VII’?

It was revealed yesterday that J.J. Abrams believes John Williams will return to score Star Wars: Episode VII, quoted by TrekMovie saying, “For Star Wars it’s very early days to know, but I believe that going forward, John Williams will be doing that film.”

I immediately thought to myself, Why don’t they try and start fresh? You don’t see them going back to the well with Man of Steel. Then I remembered this is still the same “saga” so it would only make sense to continue with Williams to maintain a certain level of continuity.

If I were to make any kind of personal “wish” or “suggestion”, I would love to see Abrams-regular Michael Giacchino also involved. I’ve liked what he’s done with both of Abrams’ Star Trek films, especially his use of the original “Star Trek” theme. On top of that, it wouldn’t be a Star Wars movie if it didn’t open with Williams’ signature score.
