There are a couple of oddities when it comes to the upcoming Carrie remake and none of them involve the actors, but instead the awesome fact it’s directed by Kimberly Peirce (Stop-Loss) and the worrisome fact it’s being distributed by Screen Gems, whose last foray into remaking a classic resulted in the lackluster Straw Dogs remake.
That said, I’m holding out hope this new film will deliver as Chloe Grace Moretz settles into the title role, an outcast, sheltered at home with her deeply religious and conservative mother (Julianne Moore), but soon Carrie’s secret is unleashed, wrecking telekinetic havoc.
The film co-stars Judy Greer, Portia Doubleday and Gabriella Wilde and will hit theaters on October 18.
