Dane Cook Will Voice Lead Character in Disney’s ‘Planes’

I guess I should have been a little more specific when I posted the trailer for Planes yesterday. The film was originally set to be a direct-to-video release from Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment, it now will hit theaters in 3-D on August 19 from Disney Animation. While it is a film that describes itself as living above the world of Cars it is not from Pixar. That last bit seemed to be a source of confusion.

Today a new detail has emerged for the film along with the new picture you see above and that is Dane Cook will voice the film’s lead character, Dusty, a cropdusting plane who dreams of competing in a famous aerial race. The problem? He is hopelessly afraid of heights. With the support of his mentor Skipper and a host of new friends, Dusty sets off to make his dreams come true.

Additional voice casting has not yet been announced though I have read Brad Garrett will supply the voice of one of the characters.

I’ve included yesterday’s trailer directly below in case you missed it.
