Jason Clarke appears to have stepped up alongside his Lawless co-star Tom Hardy for “next big thing” co-honors. The Zero Dark Thirty star continues to rack up new roles as he tells MTV that after his role in Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, he’ll join Chris Hemsworth (The Avengers) in Stephen Gaghan‘s (Syriana) new film, Candy Store. Clarke wouldn’t say what the film was about, but those details are already out there.
Candy Store centers on a deep-cover operative who aims to start a new life as a Brooklyn beat cop, only to discover the global organization he was dedicated to fighting is also operating in his new backyard. As recent as August of last year, Jamie Foxx, Brad Pitt and Denzel Washington were rumored for roles in the film.
The roles Hemsworth and Clarke will play have not yet been revealed, though Pitt and Washington were said to be up for the lead roles.
