‘Safe Haven’ Twitter Reactions Declare It the BEST MOVIE EVERRRRRR

Hats off to Twitter user thelarsnilsen for retweeting some of the most hyperbolic Twitter reactions from audience members after they saw Safe Haven last night.

For those that don’t know, Safe Haven is based on the Nicholas Sparks novel of the same name, and stars Julianne Hough as a young woman we initially meet, her hands bloodied, chased by the cops and ultimately escaping by bus to find herself ending up in a small North Carolina town. Her she falls for a man (Josh Duhammel) who lost his wife to cancer, but their time of love is short-lived as her past soon catches up with her.

That, right there, is the short of it. The film has an ending that is truly out of left field and yet not at all surprising if you’ve been paying close enough attention. I touched on it slightly in my review, but considering it has only been in theaters a couple days I don’t want to spoil it.

That said, Safe Haven is now competing with A Good Day to Die Hard for #1 over this four-day weekend. Both films were slammed by critics, but audiences seem to be lapping them up. Both earned “B+” CinemaScores and if word of mouth on Safe Haven is anything like the reactions on Twitter then this movie just might take over the world.

Here’s a sampling of reactions and be warned, they may not all be safe for the work environment.
