Making good use of the Mayan’s prediction that tomorrow, December 21, 2012, will bring about the end of the world, Sony has released a red band trailer for the Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg-scripted comedy This is the End in which six friends are trapped in a house after a series of strange and catastrophic events devastate Los Angeles. As the world unravels outside, dwindling supplies and cabin fever threaten to tear apart the friendships inside. Eventually, they are forced to leave the house, facing their fate and the true meaning of friendship and redemption.
Rogen stars in the film alongside James Franco, Jay Baruchel, Danny McBride, Jonah Hill, Craig Robinson, David Krumholtz, Aziz Ansari, Michael Cera, Jason Segel, Rihanna and Emma Watson, though it would seem a lot of those characters may have short-lived screen time as it’s revealed in this trailer that one of them doesn’t make it any further than the onset of the apocalypse.
I did watch this trailer and I will say, out of the entire three minutes, my favorite part is Hill’s emphasis on each syllable in “fatalities”.
