For anyone that has seen Hannibal Rising or any prequel for that matter, I don’t know how you can’t look at A&E’s upcoming television show “Bates Motel” and not be apprehensive.
Yes, they may find a way to throw a few twists and turns at viewers as they experience the evolution of Norman Bates (played by Freddie Highmore) and his relationship with his mother (played by Vera Farmiga), but I can’t help but feel this all would have been a lot better if they hadn’t called it “Bates Motel” and had simply used the idea of an obsessed and demented teen and created a new and fresh story.
For me, the connection to Psycho is enough to lose interest. Your thoughts?
“Bates Motel” will play on A&E in March 2013.
