8 New Pictures and Triptych Banner Put ‘Oz: the Great and Powerful’ On Display

Disney spread out the reveal of this new banner for Oz: The Great and Powerful over the course of three weeks so I just held off waiting for the complete image to be revealed before bringing it to you so I didn’t have to write mundane copy three times and instead only this once. Fortunately, along with the complete banner a batch of eight new images have also come available from the film featuring stars James Franco, Mila Kunis, Michelle Williams and Rachel Weisz along with curious creatures including a flying monkey and a China Doll voiced by Joey King.

Oz: The Great and Powerful hits theaters on March 8 and imagines the origins of L. Frank Baum’s beloved character, the Wizard of Oz. When Oscar Diggs (Franco), a small-time circus magician with dubious ethics, is hurled away from dusty Kansas to the vibrant Land of Oz, he thinks he’s hit the jackpot–fame and fortune are his for the taking–that is until he meets three witches, Theodora ( Kunis), Evanora (Weisz) and Glinda (Williams), who are not convinced he is the great wizard everyone’s been expecting. Reluctantly drawn into the epic problems facing the Land of Oz and its inhabitants, Oscar must find out who is good and who is evil before it is too late. Putting his magical arts to use through illusion, ingenuity–and even a bit of wizardry–Oscar transforms himself not only into the great and powerful Wizard of Oz but into a better man as well.

I have included the eight new images below and on the second page and on the third page are large versions of all three pieces of the banner image you see above. For more on the film click here.
