Trailer for Zombie Rom-Com ‘Warm Bodies’ Arrives

Yes, this trailer arrived online yesterday, but it had that ugly “Entertainment Tonight” logo on it and I just can’t stand when companies such as that and “Entertainment Weekly” do that and will never understand why studios allow them to do so. As such, I waited a day and here we have a clean copy of the first trailer for Warm Bodies from 50/50 helmer Jonathan Levine. The big question I have about this one is if it will actually be able to stand apart from the Twilight franchise of mystical and/or horrific creatures entering some sort of loving bond with a human.

Here, following a zombie epidemic, a zombie named R (Nicholas Hoult) encounters Julie (Teresa Palmer), and rescues her from a zombie attack. Julie sees that R is different from the other zombies, and as the two form a special relationship in their struggle for survival, R becomes increasingly more human.

The poster for this had me thinking it looked entirely ridiculous. Yes, Levine has some talent, but I just can’t help but feel if this film tries for any semblance of honest drama, in its sure-to-be-melodramatic third act, that I will be able to go with it. I hope I’m wrong. I’ve been wrong many times before. Give the trailer a watch below and let me know what you think.
