Bond Targeted in New ‘Skyfall’ Clip as Reviews Begin Pouring In

Skyfall screened for junket press over the weekend and I’ve done everything in my power to avoid reading the early reviews, though it’s impossible to avoid the fact people are liking what they see.

Can’t say I’m too surprised, given the talent involved from the top down beginning with director Sam Mendes, stars Daniel Craig, Javier Bardem, Judi Dench, Ben Whishaw, Ralph Fiennes and Naomie Harris, cinematographer Roger Deakins and composer Thomas Newman. Seriously, who isn’t expecting something great?

The film hits international theaters on October 26 and arrives in the U.S. on November 9 (screening early in IMAX the night before). I won’t be seeing it until October 30 here in Seattle and already had to decline conversation about it with a couple of people lucky enough to have seen it already. Such is life…

At this point I’m just surprised Sony and MGM didn’t try and step in and sponsor Felix Baumgartner’s space jump as it seemed like a prime opportunity to take advantage of the film’s title, but it seems they’ll go the more traditional marketing route and offer you a new clip from the film.. Hopefully this helps hold you over as we all wait.
