Pixar Working on ‘Toy Story of Terror’ and Full ‘Partysaurus Rex’ Short Online

A new “Toy Story Toon” was featured in front of Finding Nemo 3-D this summer called Partysaurus Rex and you can now watch it online in full at the bottom of this post, but it sounds like Pixar is taking the Toy Story shorts out of the theater in 2013 and bringing them to the small screen with a holiday special called Toy Story of Terror.

Animation World Network (via Upcoming Pixar) reports the following synopsis:

What starts out as a fun road trip for the Toy Story gang takes an unexpected turn for the worse when the trip detours to a roadside motel. After one of the toys goes missing, the others find themselves caught up in a mysterious sequence of events that must be solved before they all suffer the same fate in this Toy Story of Terror.

Toy Story of Terror is expected to air in October 2013, but a director and talent involved has not yet been confirmed. The folks at Upcoming Pixar speculate Toy Story 3 helmer Lee Unkrich will likely be involved considering his love for The Shining, but I’m sure some kind of official word will be released soon enough now the cat’s out of the bag. I’m sure they’ll be able to get Tom Hanks, Tim Allen and the rest of the voice cast to cooperate as well, hard to imagine they’d make another Toy Story product without the longtime principals involved.
