Watch a Clip and Vintage Arcade Ad for ‘Wreck-It Ralph’

When it comes to animation, when looking at the overall year on a whole, Disney’s Wreck-It Ralph is the one I find most appealing. I can’t exactly say why outside of saying it looks like a film Pixar would have made but didn’t.

Disney scored with Tangled in 2010, showing there may be more to the Mouse House than being the studio that distributes Pixar features and with Brave being the massive dud that it was, perhaps they’ll pick up the slack this year and Wreck-It Ralph will end up as good as I hope it would be. It wouldn’t hurt considering the Best Animated Feature race is also wide open at the moment, especially considering the lackluster response to Tim Burton’s Frankenweenie this weekend.

That said, Disney has released a pair of marketing items for the upcoming animated video-game-based feature that includes a first look clip featuring the title character (voiced by John C. Reilly) who has escaped his own videogame, no longer wanting to play the villain, to explore the digital space. On his travels he runs into Vanellope von Schweetz (voiced by Sarah Silverman) and this clip appears to feature their introduction.

After that we have a retro commercial for the fake videogame (at least I think it’s fake unless you can play it online somewhere that I don’t know about) “Fix-It Felix Jr.” The retro-styled ad is pretty cool and I’ve also included a sell sheet for the game below that.

Wreck-It Ralph hits theaters on November 2 and you can get more info, trailers and pictures for the film here.
