With production underway on Jack Ryan, a prequel story centered on the popular Tom Clancy character seen in movies such as The Hunt for Red October and Patriot Games, Paramount has released the first official image of Chris Pine in the title role as he cruises through the streets of Manhattan on his bike.
The film is currently slated for a Christmas Day 2013 release and along with Pine the film stars Kevin Costner, Keira Knightley and Kenneth Branagh playing the film’s villain and serving as director.
Plot details are not yet confirmed, but early word is it will center on Ryan, a financial analyst living in Moscow who uncovers a terrorist plot. The character as known in the Clancy novels is an ex-Marine turned analyst.
