After the Alex Cross was released earlier today I expected the trailer wasn’t too far behind and here it is as Summit gives us the first look at the new film based on the James Patterson novel of the same name.
Directed by Rob Cohen (The Fast and the Furious), the film is an origin tale centered on detective/psychologist Alex Cross (Tyler Perry) as he tracks a serial killer and rapist (Matthew Fox) who may have murdered his pregnant wife years earlier. The film co-stars Edward Burns, Jean Reno, Giancarlo Esposito, John C. McGinley and Yara Shahidi.
After fast-forwarding through the trailer looking for the screen shot above the only thing that really stood out to me (outside of the silly looking rocket launcher scene), was Perry running through the sewer as Cohen was clearly going for a Third Man vibe. Visually he succeeded, but how will the film be perceived overall. We’ll find out on October 26.
