The first trailer for the Sundance acquisition Celeste and Jesse Forever has arrived. The film was picked up by Sony Pictures Classics and stars Rashida Jones and Andy Samberg as the two titular characters who have been together since high school, married young and have since grown apart. So, they have decided to get a divorce but remain friends while searching for new relationships. Like the saying goes, if you love something let it go, if it comes back to you it’s yours — oh, what was that? — forever. Man, that word is in the title of the movie! Coincidence?
In all seriousness, I’m looking forward to this one arriving on August 3.
Directed by Lee Toland Krieger, the film co-stars Chris Messina, Ari Graynor, Emma Roberts and Elijah Wood and the buzz out of Sundance and appreciation for the two leads is enough for me to want to see it.
