Summit has revealed the bloody first poster and motion poster from director Scott Derrickson‘s new film Sinister, a film centered on a true crime novelist (Ethan Hawke) who discovers a box of mysterious, disturbing home movies that plunge his family into a nightmarish experience of supernatural horror. His investigation leads him to a supernatural entity that may be placing his own family in harm’s way.
Co-starring in the feature, which is due in theaters on October 5, are Juliet Rylance, Fred Dalton Thompson, James Ransone, Clare Foley and Michael Hall D’Addario.
This is Derrickson’s first film since 2008’s The Day the Earth Stood Still and his return to horror following his debut feature The Exorcism of Emily Rose in 2005.
