Following the sad, unfortunate and wrongful shooting of Trayvon Martin, 20th Century Fox wasn’t entirely sure to do about their upcoming movie, which was, at the time, titled Neighborhood Watch. The film centers on four everyday suburban guys (Richard Ayoade, Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn and Jonah Hill) who come together to form a neighborhood watch group, but only as an excuse to escape their humdrum lives one night a week.
Things take a turn, however, when they accidentally discover their town has become overrun with aliens posing as ordinary suburbanites, giving them no choice but to save their neighborhood — and the world — from total extermination.
Fox has now changed the title to The Watch and has just released the following red band trailer for the new comedy directed by Lonely Island member and Hot Rod director Akiva Schaffer and written by Superbad screenwriters Evan Goldberg and Seth Rogen.
The Watch is still set to hit theaters on July 27 and along with those mentioned above, it co-stars Rosemarie DeWitt, Will Forte and Billy Crudup.
