This morning it was finally made official what we had assumed for a very long time, Walter Salles‘s On the Road starring Garrett Hedlund, Sam Riley and Kristen Stewart would be heading to Cannes. And on such occasion MK2 Distribution released a couple more posters with the Official Selection of the Cannes Film Festival logo on it bringing the total up to ten.
Along with the film’s leads we have posters for Kirsten Dunst as Camille, Tom Sturridge as Carlo Marx, Viggo Mortensen as Old Bull Lee, Amy Adams as Jane, Alice Braga as Terry and Elisabeth Moss as Galatea Dunkel in the of Jack Keroac’s “On the Road” in which Hedlund is set to play Dean Moriarty while Riley will play Kerouac’s alter ego, Salvatore Paradise, two young men who journey across the North American landscape in pursuit of self-knowledge and experience. Kristen Stewart will play Dean’s wife, Marylou.
The film has not yet been picked up for domestic distribution so its Cannes premiere will be quite important when it comes to its down-the-road success.
You can browse my gallery of nine character posters from the film and its official Cannes poster directly below. I have included captions for each if you don’t necessarily want to begin at… the beginning.
