Maybe Paul Thomas Anderson’s ‘The Master’ Will Premiere at Cannes

Early this morning I posted my Forbes where the writer claims to have been told the film would not be ready. Well, hold up.

Last night I saw a few Cannes speculations discussing Anderson as a possibility and now the film’s production company, Annapurna Pictures, has posted on Twitter a simple little statement reading… “Cannes”.

Now, this could mean one of three things, one of them being Anderson’s film, the other two being the production house’s two other likely Cannes contenders Andrew Dominick’s Killing Them Softly starring Brad Pitt and John Hillcoat’s Lawless with Tom Hardy and Shia Labeouf. I think it is fair to say that clearly one of the three will be in attendance when you consider the Tweet, but is it possible all three will be there?

To add fuel to the fire, the New York Times posted a curious piece regarding The Master just today and did so without any quotes from those involved in the production. Curious timing don’tcha think?

One thing I will say, is if all three make it this may in fact be the year to remember at the Festival and we are now less than 11 hours away from the full reveal.
