Matthew McConaughey Has Jack Black On Trial for Murder in Clip from ‘Bernie’

Watching this clip from Richard Linklater‘s Bernie the only thing I can seem to focus on are the two people in the front row of the jury box. I’m not judging, but they definitely stand out.

As for the content of the clip, it features Matthew McConaughey as District Attorney, Danny Buck Davidson, who is trying Bernie (Jack Black), a beloved, small-town Texas, local mortician for the murder of Marjorie (Shilrey MacLaine), a wealthy spinster of a widow Bernie had befriended. Bernie comes under fire when Marjorie dies and it isn’t revealed until a while later she had been dead for some time. While the town was surprised Bernie and Marjorie had become friends, it comes as a bigger shock when the learn Bernie is being charged with her murder.

The film is set to hit theaters on April 27. You can watch the trailer right here.
