A pair of new video blogs/featurettes promoting the upcoming 23rd James Bond film, Skyfall, debuted this morning taking a look at the film’s two new Bond Girls, Naomie Harris as Eve and Berenice Marlohe as Severine.
The first one featured below is for Marlohe, a French actress who, ironically enough, recently wrapped the French comedy Un bonheur n’arrive jamais seul in which she stars opposite Sophie Marceau who played Elektra King in 1999’s Bond feature, The World Is Not Enough. Perhaps Marceau gave her some pointers.
The most interesting thing about this video, however, is when Marlohe says, “I was convinced, in a way, that I could bring something interesting as an actress.” It’s not exactly a confidence filled statement, but for most of the blog she’s seen doing glamor shots so I’m not entirely sure her talents as an actress were entirely the reason she got the gig.
The second video features Harris whom you may remember from Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest, Miami Vice or any number of features. In the film she plays MI6 agent Eve, and she is rumored to be the new Moneypenny, which could make for an interesting origin story especially considering all she’s seen doing here is shooting guns, something I don’t believe I’ve ever seen Moneypenny even hold in the previous Bond films.
Either way, Harris looks more than capable with a weapon, as she has before, so give the video a look directly below.
Skyfall hits theaters on November 9 and is being directed by Sam Mendes. Daniel Craig is once again back as Bond and along with Harris and Marlohe he is joined by Javier Bardem, Ralph Fiennes, Judi Dench, Helen McCrory, Ben Whishaw, Albert Finney and Ola Rapace.
