Well you don’t have to tell me twice, after Alexander Payne, Nat Faxon and Jim Rash were awarded the USC Libraries Scripter Award right here.
In the Original category I have had Allen’s script at the top since the beginning and I see no reason to change that now. Granted, The Artist is expected to be the top dog at this year’s ceremony and that screenplay, along with several others, was not eligible for an award from the WGA, an organization that only recognizes screenplays written by WGA members or under productions that are signatories to the guild’s Minimum Basic Agreement. Some believe The Artist will still end up taking the Oscar, and it just might, but I’m sticking with Woody.
I have included all of the WGA winners in film and television directly below, along with Katie Galloway and Kelly Duane de la Vega win for Best Documentary screenplay for Better This World.
