The first trailer for Ridley Scott‘s Prometheus has arrived, giving you your first full look at what was once a prequel to Scott’s classic 1979 film Alien but is reportedly now something all its own.
The synopsis suggests the film creates a “groundbreaking” mythology, in which a team of explorers discover a clue to the origins of mankind on Earth, leading them on a thrilling journey to the darkest corners of the universe. There, they must fight a terrifying battle to save the future of the human race.
The cast included Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender, Charlize Theron, Idris Elba, Sean Harris, Kate Dickie, Rafe Spall, Logan Marshall-Green, Guy Pearce and Patrick Wilson and the film is set to hit theaters on June 8, 2012.
Give the trailer a watch below and leave your thoughts in the comments. While I only skimmed the trailer for the screen capture above, the title presentation along suggests this film may have closer ties to Alien than anyone is letting on.
