I have a screener of The Iron Lady here that I intend to get to very soon along with a stack of other movies I hope to have completed by the time Sunday rolls around, but I am particularly interested in seeing Meryl Streep as Margaret Thatcher. For now all I have to share is a new trailer for the film, which hits limited theaters on December 30 and will then expand in early January.
Directed by Phillida Lloyd (Mamma Mia!), The Iron Lady is an intimate portrait of Thatcher, one of the 20th century’s most famous and influential women, as she came from nowhere to smash through barriers of gender and class to be heard in a male dominated world. The film co-stars Jim Broadbent, Anthony Head, Richard E. Grant, Roger Allam and Olivia Colman.
You can watch the trailer below and in high definition at Apple.
If you haven’t yet checked out my Best Actress predictions, Streep is my current front-runner and you can check out which actresses are hot on her tail right here.
