New ‘Mission: Impossible 4’ Trailer Tells More of the Story

Yahoo has debuted the second feature trailer for Tom Cruise‘s Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol as excitement for the film really seems to be ramping up, especially after the “Burj Khalifa” featurette that debuted yesterday that featured Cruise as Ethan Hunt scaling the 2,717-foot high structure.

Today’s trailer, however, is more about story as this fourth mission finds Hunt and his team facing problems of their own when the IMF is shut down when it’s implicated in a global terrorist bombing plot. Ghost Protocol is initiated and Ethan Hunt (Cruise) and his rogue new team (Jeremy Renner, Paula Patton and Simon Pegg) must go undercover to clear their organization’s name. No help, no contact, off the grid. You have never seen a mission grittier and more intense than this.

Oh, and is that Josh Holloway (“Lost”) doing a dipsy-dive off a roof and pulling the trigger on his way down. Is that his death scene?

Much of the story lately has surrounded the fact a six-minute prologue for The Dark Knight Rises will be shown in front of 70mm IMAX screenings of the film when it’s released on December 16, but let’s see if this trailer gives you the opportunity to get excited for the film all on its own.
