‘Drive’ Inspired a Man to Throw a Hot Dog at Tiger Woods

I have to now wonder if Brandon Kelly, the 31-year-old who threw a hot dog at Tiger Woods over the weekend, is some sort of genius, pointing out the stupidity of blaming movies for your actions as he has now told the Santa Rosa Press Democrat (via THR) he threw the hot dog at Woods because he was inspired by the movie Drive.

I threw the hot dog toward Tiger Woods because I was inspired by the movie Drive,” Kelly was quoted as saying. “As soon as the movie ended, I thought to myself, ‘I have to do something courageous and epic. I have to throw a hot dog on the green in front of Tiger.'”

This comes on the heels of the news I brought to you yesterday of the woman in Detroit suing FilmDistrict and a local theater because Drive wasn’t enough like Fast and the Furious. “Drive bore very little similarity to a chase or race action film… having very little driving in the motion picture,” read the complaint from Detroit area native Sarah Deming.

At this point I’m beginning to wonder if these people aren’t members of the publicity agencies repping Drive, trying to drum up some additional interest following the film’s overwhelming critical response followed by lackluster numbers at the box-office.

You can check out the video of the hot dog throwing incident in the video directly below. It’s quite riveting… no, not really.
