Scream 4 hits Blu-ray and DVD tomorrow, October 4, and although a publicist has been telling me for the last month I will be receiving a review copy, that review copy has yet to arrive, so I guess it’s a mystery at this point. However, it looks like one feature included on the release will be an alternate opening, which has been uploaded to YouTube in bootlegged fashion.
I don’t remember if the opening was without any kind of music before, but as presented here it’s a bit grisly without the added sound effects and atmospheric music making it a bit more realistic… not to mention reeeeeally slow and boring. I pretty much fast forwarded over most of the 3:20 minute clip, but you can watch as much or little as you want directly below.
